How To Maintain and Care For the Dekka Tape Head …
Lubrication Schedule
1.
Lubricate the felt pad, located on the inside of the knife guard cover, every
few days. This will prevent adhesive build-up and lengthen the life of the
cut-off knife.
Wear Points
1.
Periodically check for any excessive wear of the pivot points on the head or
loose parts.
Note:
"Lock-tite" locking fluid is used in the assembly process and may cause bolts and
nuts to be stiff to remove. Apply gentle heat to the bolt for easier removal, as
necessary.
Cleaning
1.
Use a solvent-like acetone or lacquer thinner to remove any adhesive
build-up on the rollers or knives.
2.
If the tape heads are subjected to heavy use, daily removal of dust and debris
is recommended as excessive dirt and dust may impair smooth operation.
Note:
If the bearings become stiff, remove and clean. Lubricate the bearings prior to
reassembling.
