Troubleshooting

Problem

Possible Solution

If the HMI is offline …

Check both ends of the HMI cable to verify it is not loose or unplugged.

Check HMI set up for communications baud rate. Rate should equal 9600. Consult Pearson
Service Dept for instructions on accessing HMI Set up.

If the Drive System fails to run …

Check the Drive Chain.

Check the Motor/Brake.

Check the gearbox.

If the Flight Chain fails to run …

Remove any debris jammed in the machine.

Turn on the main disconnect and use the start-up procedures.

Ensure the flight lugs are not catching or rubbing on the sprockets.

Check the spur gears inside the overhead to be sure they are engaged.

Tension the chains, adjust pulley, Check the motor, gear reducers, pillow blocks, and chains
for defective components. Lubricate, repair or replace defective components.

Troubleshoot the electrical.

If the Magazine does not operate …

Be sure magazine size guides are not too tight.

Check the bearings and pivot arms; lubricate, repair or replace as required.

Check pneumatics.

Check all adjustments.
