How To Adjust the Tape Holder or Mandrel Hub Brake …

Note:

The adjustable friction brake is used to prevent over-spin of the tape roll that in
turn causes backlash of the tape.

Set the brake with a full roll of tape in the tape head.

Adjust the brake so there is not any slack left after each taping cycle.

To adjust the friction brake, tighten the center nut to increase tension or
loosen to decrease tension.

Be sure to compensate for different unwind tension when changing the tape
type or suppliers.
