Function expansion through auxiliary modules
Description

Pool relay test
The status for the relay test can be set
here
-
Inactive
The relay test is not active. Control takes
place automatically.
Off
All actuators are switched off.

An output variable can be defined here
for the actuators activated via the relay
test.

Material damage
If outputs are activated via the relay test, then no
protective functions are active in the controller. The
outputs are not switched off via the controller, even
when the target values have been reached.
»
Perform the relay test only for testing or com-
missioning purposes.
More detailed information about the relay test can be found
in the relevant section. (See page 64, Relay test)
33.3 Auxiliary energy generator
To be able to use this function, you need auxiliary module
A or B.
If an auxiliary energy generator such as a gas or oil boiler
is available, it can be switched on via the OTS controller.
The auxiliary energy generator can be used for both heat-
ing and DHW.
Note
The auxiliary energy generator is prioritised higher
than an existing electric auxiliary heater.
33.3.1 Operating program
Operating program
Description
Off
The auxiliary energy generator is switched
off. Frost protection remains active.
Operating program
Description
Automatic
The auxiliary energy generator works in
automatic mode. Depending on the heat
demand, it will be switched on and off au-
tomatically. The auxiliary energy generator
is not normally switched on until the biva-
lent point is undershot.
In exceptional cases, the auxiliary energy
generator may also switch on irrespective
of the bivalent point:
The auxiliary energy generator is switched
on if the heat pump is not enabled as an
energy generator for an extended period
(lockout).
If the heat pump is only temporarily not
enabled as an energy generator (fault), the
electric auxiliary heater takes over first, if
there is one available.
The auxiliary energy generator switches
on if more output is required than the heat
pump can provide. This can happen if the
heat pump is already close to reaching the
limits of use.
Setting the operating program
»
Open the menu.
»
Select “Auxiliary heater”.
»
Select “Operating program”.
»
Carry out the preferred settings for “Auxiliary energy
generator, heating circuit” and “Auxiliary energy gen-
erator, domestic hot water”.
»
Return to the main screen.
33.3.2 Parameters
Parameters
Description
Unit
Bivalent point
Here, you set the outdoor temperature
from which the auxiliary energy generator
takes over part of the heat load. It should
not be switched on until the output that is
demanded is greater than the heat pump
can provide, due to the low outdoor tem-
perature.
°C
Heat pump bi-
valent point
Here, you set the outdoor temperature
from which the auxiliary energy generator
takes over the entire heat load. The heat
pump is no longer enabled as an energy
generator above this temperature.
°C
Minimum runt-
ime
Here, you set the minimum time the
auxiliary energy generator must run after
switching on.
min
Minimum
standby time
Here, you set the minimum time the auxil-
iary energy generator must stand by after
being switched off.
