Problem solving
►
In addition, correct care of the heating system is nec-
essary to ensure many years of operation and extend
its service life.
►
For the system user, this reduces the risk of system
failure.
You can find further information on customer service and
on the services offered under the maintenance contracts

7. Problem solving
7.1 Problem solving by appliance user
Problem
Possible cause
Solution
Too little DHW
is available or
the heating
system is too
cold.
The power supply
to the appliance
has been cut off
Check the safety device on
the main distributor board
for your house. Switch the
safety device back on. If the
safety device triggers again
after being switched back on,
contact a qualified contractor
or OCHSNER Customer
Service.
Water is leak-
ing from the
appliance.
The drain for the
safety valve is
blocked.
Clean the safety valve drain.
The heat pump
emits a rising
and falling
sound.
No fault
The noise is
caused by
changes in the
compressor
speed.
-
Fault message
on the user in-
terface display
and in the app
-
Report faults on the system
to your system installer or
OCHSNER customer ser-
vice, depending on the area
of responsibility.
(See page 45, Fault mes-
If you have a problem that you cannot resolve, contact
the system installer, a qualified contractor or OCHSNER
Customer Service.
7.2
Problem solving by qualified contractor
Note
Faults may only be rectified and changes made
to settings on the heat pump system by qualified
contractors. Standard settings for the controller are
set by OCHSNER Customer Service as part of the
commissioning process. The system user and their
contractual partner are responsible for any further
corrections and settings to programs.

Problem
Possible cause
Solution
Water is leaking
from the appli-
ance.
The drain for the
safety valve is
blocked.
Clean the safety valve drain.
The heating
system does
not heat up, no
fault message.
PSU shutdown
Check individual room con-
trol, vent the heating circuit,
open valves, check heating
circuit pump, increase the
output stage of the heating
circuit pump, check fuses
Energy transfer to
the heating circuits
is interrupted or is
too low
Power failure
Hot water priority
The heat pump
is only produc-
ing DHW and
is not providing
heating, or is
doing so too
slowly.
DHW target tem-
perature is too high
Check the DHW target tem-
perature
Anti-legionella
mode
Use time program; install
electric immersion heater for
DHW
DHW circulation
pipework
Reduce flow rate and use
time program
DHW heat ex-
changer scaled up
Clean and descale the heat
exchanger
DHW tempera-
ture is not or is
no longer being
reached.
Heat exchanger for
DHW is too small.
Increase size of heat ex-
changer
Heat exchanger is
scaled up
Descale heat exchanger
Sensor incorrectly
positioned
Position sensor correctly
Pipework too small Install pipes with larger di-
ameters
DHW sensor faulty Replace DHW sensor
DHW charging
pump faulty
Replace DHW charging pump
DHW charging
pump output levels
set too low
Set higher output levels
3-way switching
module faulty
Replace 3-way switching
module
Heat pump runs
continuously
but yields only
low tempera-
tures, and there
are traces of
oil in the appli-
ance.
Refrigerant escap-
ing, refrigerant line
leaking
Switch off the heat pump
Ensure adequate ventilation
in the heat pump installation
room
Notify OCHSNER Customer
Service
Flow rate too
low
The minimum flow
rate at the heat
pump is not being
reached.
System pressure too low:
check pressure maintaining
device, buffer charging pump
faulty, 3-way switching mod-
ule faulty
The heat pump
emits a rising
and falling
sound.
No fault
The noise is
caused by
changes in the
compressor
speed.

tify faults. (See page 45,
7.2.1 Resetting the high limit safety cut-out
If the temperature sensor of the high limit safety cut-out
measures a heating water temperature of over 85°C, the
power supply to the internal electric auxiliary heater is in-
terrupted.
»
Check whether the high limit safety cut-out has been
triggered.
»
Check the flow rate of the heating water.
