How to Use This Manual
Descriptions in this manual (Quick Manual →p.172）
This manual presents the information in the following manner.
"Overseas Use" describes useful information and cautions on using the FOMA terminal overseas.
Refer to "Overseas Use" when you use the FOMA terminal overseas. → p.131
・ In this manual, the screen is shown without the picture set by "Stand-by display" (p.50) in order to make the screens clear. Also, the
parts of the operating instruction screens that need an explanation are shown close up.
・ This manual mainly explains the operations with the default settings. If you change the settings, the contents displayed on your
FOMA terminal may differ from those on this manual. For the default settings, refer to "Menu Function List" (p.142).
・ The screens inserted in this manual are only the images, which may look different from the actual screens.
The Quick Manual offers brief descriptions of the basic operations. The Quick Manual (Overseas Use) offers brief
descriptions of the basic operations and the settings required for overseas use.

<Photo mode>
Shooting Still Images
Use the built-in camera to shoot still images.
● You can save the shots in the Camera folder under "My picture".

Point the camera at the

The incoming call lamp lights in red while shooting.
The camera shoots an image, and the image
checking screen appears.

The file name of the image is displayed, and you can edit the
title.

NOTE
Some images may go grainy, depending on the sizes.
If the battery is low, you may be unable to save the shots.

Front camera
/Rear camera Switches between the front camera and the rear
camera. → p.60
Movie mode Changes to the Movie mode.
Select size Select the image size from VGA(640x480),
CIF(352x288), Stand-by(176x180),
Mail(L)(176x144) and Mail(S)(128x96).
Storage
setting Sets the file size for shooting a still image.
Unrestricted Shoots without restrictions on the
file size.
Restricted
(Large) Shoots up to 100K bytes as the
file size
Restricted
(Small) Shoots up to 9K bytes as the file
size
・ This option cannot be selected
when the image size is VGA(640
× 480) or CIF(352 × 288).
White
balance Adjusts the colors according to the light
Auto Automatically corrects the color.
Fine Is the mode suitable for shooting
outside on a sunny day.
Cloudy Is the mode suitable for shooting
outside on a cloudy day or in the
shade.
Light bulb Is the mode suitable for shooting
under the incandescence.
Color mode
set Sets the effects on the photographed images
Normal Shoots with the typical color
settings.
Sepia Shoots a sepia-tone image.
Mono-
chrome Shoots a black-and-white
(monochrome) image.
Brightness Chooses the brightness among 5 levels from "-2"
to "+2".
