Text Entry

You  can  enter  text  on  the  FOMA  terminal  for  various  functions
such as composing mail, adding information to phonebook, etc.

Text entry (edit) screen

Text entry area：Text is entered at the location of ■(cursor).

In "Kanji/hiragana input mode", the entered hiragana is displayed 
below, and when converted and confirmed, the text is entered at 
the location of ■ (cursor).
When entering pictographs or symbols, the list of pictographs 
and symbols is displayed. When a pictograph or symbol is 
selected, it is entered at the location of ■(cursor).

Predictive candidate display area：When entering text with 

"Prediction" set to "ON", the list of predictive candidates is 
displayed.

Information display area：The current input mode, upper case or 

lower case mode, full-pitch or half-pitch mode, and the remaining 
number of bytes are displayed.

Changing the input mode

The FOMA terminal has the Kanji/hiragana, Kana, alphabetic, and
numeric input mode.
● When you can change the input mode, "

" is displayed.

The  input  mode  changes  to  the  next  mode  each  time  you
press 

  in  the  following  sequence:  "Alphabetic  (full-pitch/

half-pitch)"→ "Numeric (full-pitch/half-pitch)"→"Kanji/hiragana"
→"Kana (full-pitch/half-pitch)".

enables you to switch between half pitch and full pitch.
