<Multi Access>
Multi Access
Multi Access is a function that enables you to make voice calls,
perform packet communication and use SMS at the same time.
This enables you to receive SMS messages during a voice call or
answer a voice call during the i-mode session.
Multi access combination patterns
The table shows the possible main combination patterns for the
multi access:
○：Can be activated. ×：Cannot be activated.
△ ： Can be activated depending on situation.−：Functionally incompatible.
※1： If you have subscribed to "Call Waiting", you can hold the
current voice call to make or receive a call.
※2： You can only make a voice/videophone call when you use the
Phone To/AV Phone To function.
※3： You can only send an i-mode mail when you use the Mail To
function.
※4： The FOMA terminal starts receiving the new i-mode mail
after it terminates the i-mode communication. When it is
during downloading, the FOMA terminal starts receiving the
i-mode mail after the downloading is complete.
※5： The FOMA terminal starts receiving new SMS after it
terminates the current communication.
Receiving a voice call during i-mode communication
If you receive a voice call while you are using i-mode, receiving or
sending i-mode mail, the voice call reception screen appears and
you can answer the call without ending the i-mode session.
● You cannot answer videophone calls during i-mode session.

The call ends and the i-mode screen reappears.
Receiving a voice/videophone call during SMS operation
If you receive a voice/videophone call while you are receiving or
sending an SMS message, the voice/videophone call reception
screen appears and you can answer the voice/videophone call
without ending the SMS receiving/sending.

To end the call
Receiving an i-mode mail during SMS operation
If you receive an i-mode mail while you are receiving or sending an
SMS message, the i-mode mail receiving screen appears and you
can check the i-mode mail without aborting the SMS receiving or
sending.
Receiving an SMS (Short Message) during communication
If you receive an SMS message during a voice call or i-mode
communication, the FOMA terminal continues to display the
current communication screen. "

ring tone to notify you of the received SMS. Check the received
SMS after the current communication ends.

z Communication charges apply for each of the lines used
during multi access communication.
z You cannot use multi access during a videophone call or
packet communication with a PC. However, only SMS can be
