<Public Mode (Power off)>

Using Public Mode (Power off)

Public  mode  (power  off)  is  an  automatic  answering  service  that
allows you to keep good manners in public places. If you set the
Public  mode  (power  off)  and  then  receive  a  call  with  the  power
turned off, the caller will hear an announcement that you are in a
place where the power needs to be turned off (hospital, airplane,
near a priority seat, etc.) and cannot answer the call, and then the
call will end.

On the standby screen, 
press 

The Public mode (power off) is set (no change is made on the
standby screen).
After  the  Public  mode  (power  off)  is  set  and  the  power  is
turned  off,  if  a  call  is  received,  the  caller  will  hear  an
announcement that "I am now in a place where I need to turn
off my phone, and cannot answer your call. Please call again
later on".

If the Public mode (power off) is set

The  setting  will  remain  unchanged  until  you  dial  " 25250"  to
release the Public mode (power off). Turning on the power does not
release the setting.
The  caller  will  hear  the  Public  mode  (power  off)  announcement
when you are out of service area or in a place where radio waves
do not reach.
● The voice caller hears an announcement that you cannot answer

the call because you are in a place where you need to turn off
the power, and the call then ends.

● Receiving  a  call  when  network  services  and  Public

mode (power off) are set

If  the  FOMA  terminal  is  set  to  Public  mode  (power  off)  while
network services are activated, voice calls or videophone calls
are handled as shown in the table below.

The call forwarding guidance message played to the caller depends
on  the  Call  forwarding  setting.  For  the  Call  forwarding  setting
procedure, refer to "Network Service Operation Guide".

※2:

Calls to videophones will not be connected unless the forwarding
party has a videophone set to comply with 3G-324M.（3G-324M：
An international standard for 3rd-generation mobile videophones).

Turning  on  the  power  does  not  release  the  Public  mode
(power off). The setting will remain unchanged until you dial 
" 25250" to release the Public mode (power off).
