Using an Earphone/Microphone with Switch
You can receive a call using a switch of flat-plug earphone/
microphone with switch.
● To connect a flat-plug earphone/microphone with switch to the
FOMA terminal, open the earphone/microphone terminal cover
and insert the earphone/microphone with switch into the socket.

● Do not wrap the cord of the flat-plug earphone/microphone with
switch around the FOMA terminal. Doing so may lower the signal
strength. Furthermore, bringing the code of flat-plug earphone/
microphone with switch close to the FOMA terminal may
generate noise.
Using the switch to accept a call

When you receive a call, press the switch on the
flat-plug earphone/microphone
Pressing the switch with the FOMA terminal folded also
enables you to answer the call.
■ When accepting a voice call
The FOMA terminal emits a short beep and enables you to
answer the call.
■ When accepting a videophone call
The FOMA terminal emits a short beep and enables you to
answer the call using your substitute image. You can send
the camera image by pressing
[Left] to access the
"Send camera image" / "Substitutive image" .

Press and hold the switch on the flat-plug
earphone/microphone for 1 second or longer
when you finish talking
The FOMA terminal emits a short beep and ends the call.
Note
z If you set "Automatic answer" to "ON", you can accept an
incoming call automatically without having to press the
switch on the earphone/microphone with switch→p.52
z When you have a call, the ring tone sounds for around 20
seconds from the flat-plug earphone/microphone with switch
and then from the FOMA terminal subsequently.
z You cannot make the FOMA terminal call handsfree even if
you press and hold the switch on the flat-plug earphone/
microphone for more than 1 second during the call. Note that
if you press the switch more than 1 second during a call, the
call will be disconnected.
z Do not repeatedly press and release the switch on the flat-
plug earphone/microphone. Doing so may cause the FOMA
terminal to automatically accept a call.
