key to save your vessel’s position as a way-
point or as part of a route (this can be done from any
screen as well as the
CHART
screen)
NOTE:
You also can easily create a new route right from the
CHART
screen. To make a new route, see ”Making a new route” starting on
page 4-22.
Going to new
coordinates
To specify new coordinates from the
CHART
screen, press the
GO TO
key and the
GO TO COORDINATES
dialog box appears.
The 961 displays your most recently used waypoint position as
well as its distance and bearing. If desired, use the
KEYPAD
to
enter new coordinates (press the
TDS,LAT/LON
key to switch
between displaying lat/lon and TDs). Press the
CURSOR PAD
right to move the cursor to enter longitude. You can also press
the
CURSOR PAD
down to enter distance and bearing to the
new point, instead of lat/lon or TDs, and the coordinates will
be calculated for you.
