4. Use the
KEYPAD
to enter the new waypoint’s name (or
use the default name,
W0000
, which automatically names
these waypoints sequentially from
W0001
up to
W9999
)
.
You can use any characters on the
KEYPAD
. The name
can be from one to nine characters long, and must be dif-
ferent from all the other waypoint names in the 961’s
database.
T
o select a symbol for this waypoint, after
you’ve finished storing its coordinates here on the
CHART
screen, go to the
WAYPOINTS
screen and edit the way-
point.
5. Press the
MAKE NEW WAYPOINT
key (or press the
RETURN
key to cancel).
The 961 stores the new waypoint and returns to the
CHART
screen, showing the navigation information about
this new waypoint in the
CURSOR INFO BAR
.
To return to your vessel’s position, press the
VESSEL
key.
Creating a new
waypoint at the
vessel’s position
To instantly save your vessel’s present position as an individ-
ual waypoint:
1. While in any 961 function (at any screen), press the
SAVE
key.
The
VESSEL POSITION
dialog box appears.
