To display any trip waypoints not currently on the screen,
press the
CURSOR PAD
up or down to scroll the list.
To the right of the
ARRIVAL
column is a red vertical slide bar,
which is relative to the size of the trip list. The smaller the
slider, the larger the list; the larger the slider, the smaller the
list. The slider also indicates your position in the list, i.e. at the
top, in the middle, at the bottom, or anywhere else in between.
At power-up, the 961 inserts the last known position into the
trip, right after any old past points.
Understanding the
trip list
Within the trip list, waypoints are grouped sequentially in past,
active, and future categories. Past waypoints are displayed at
the top of the list; the active waypoint—if any—is displayed in
the middle and is always highlighted in yellow; and any future
waypoints are listed below the active one.
Waypoint names
The
TRIP
screen displays all waypoints involved with your
current trip, which can be any of the following:
• waypoints selected from the 961’s database (user-defined
names)
• unnamed waypoints entered and saved as numeric coor-
dinates (labelled
COORD
)
• unnamed waypoints created graphically by moving the
cursor on the
CHART
screen (labelled
COORD
)
• waypoints created by pressing the
SAVE
key to record
your present position (labelled
SAVEDXX*
, where
XX
is a
number
00
through
99
)
• waypoints created by pressing the
MOB
key to record
your present position (labelled
MOBXX
*, where
XX
is a
number
00
through
09
)
• waypoints logged by the 961 at power-up, or when start-
ing to a new destination, or when joining a leg, or when
erasing a trip (all labelled
COORD
)
