Chapter 6 - Creating Waypoints
961 Operations and Reference Manual Rev. D
Page 6-5
The
WAYPOINTS
screen lists all your existing waypoints,
showing symbol, name, distance from your present position,
bearing, and lat/lon or TDs and GRI.
To select a waypoint (indicated by the horizontal stripe), press
the
CURSOR PAD
up or down.
To the right of the
LONGITUDE
column is a red vertical slide
bar, which is relative to the size of the list of waypoints. The
smaller the slider, the larger the list; the larger the slider, the
smaller the list. The slider also indicates your position in the
list, i.e. at the top, in the middle, at the bottom, or anywhere
else in between.
Other displays of
waypoints
In addition to the
WAYPOINTS
and
CHART
screens, you also
can display past, active, and future waypoints in today’s trip
(on the
TRIP
screen), and you can display the active waypoint
(the waypoint the 961 is navigating to) on the
CHART
screen
INFO BAR
s and on both
STEER
screens. These screens are
explained in separate chapters, however. For details about dis-
playing waypoints on the
TRIP
screen, see ”Displaying the trip”
starting on page 11-3. For details about displaying waypoints
on the steering screens, see ”Steering to a waypoint” starting
on page 10-2.
Sorting the list of waypoints
You can sort the waypoint list by the following:
•
symbol
•
name
•
distance from your present position
•
bearing
At the
WAYPOINTS
screen, press the
CURSOR PAD
left or
right to select the particular sort field (whenever you sort the
waypoints list, you retain the currently selected waypoint).
