NOTE:
If you’re viewing and editing information on the
DISPLAY SETUP
screen, and you press one of the five function keys to view other
data, the 961 immediately cancels your edit-in-progress so that you
can view the data requested by your function keypress. To resume
editing at the
DISPLAY SETUP
screen, you must return to that
screen and re-enter the data that you lost when you pressed the
function key. To purposely cancel an edit-in-progress, however,
you’d normally press the
CANCEL
key.
Time zone
When shipped from the factory, the current time is expressed
as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). To change the 961’s time
zone:
1. Press the
CURSOR PAD
to highlight the
TIME ZONE
field,
then press the
EDIT
key.
2. Press the
CURSOR PAD
up or down or press the
ARROW
keys to select the desired zone.
3. When done, press the
ACCEPT
key (or
CANCEL
to leave
the option unchanged).
4. Press
RETURN
to go back to the
SETUP MENU
screen.
Display of time
To change the display of time to either a 12- or 24-hour clock:
1. Press the
CURSOR PAD
to highlight the
TIME FORMAT
field, then press the
EDIT
key.
2. Press the
CURSOR PAD
left or right or press the
ARROW
keys to select either
12 HR
or
24 HR
.
3. When done, press the
ACCEPT
key (or
CANCEL
to leave
the option unchanged).
4. Press
RETURN
to go back to the
SETUP MENU
screen.
Cross-track error
scale
You can adjust the cross-track display limits on the
STEER
screen and the
CHART
screen’s
INFO BARS
to suit your
needs—whether you’re navigating out in open waters or trying
to maneuver through a tight channel. Cross-track scale is the
total left-to-right distance limit on your screen. For example, a
cross-track scale setting of 1000 feet displays 500 feet on
either side of your track line.
