9-32 Upgrading Your Server
Setting after installation
Depending on the type of the installed board, some settings of the server must be modified by using
the proper utility (such as the BIOS Setup Utility or the setup utility provided with the board) after
the installation.
Provide the settings correctly according to the information described in the manual provided with
the board.
The server scans the PCI device in the ascending order of PCI bus numbers after the power-on. If
the BIOS utility is stored in the optional ROM mounted on the board, the PCI bus start messages
(banners) appear in the ascending order of the PCI bus numbers.
Removal
Remove the board from the PCI board slot in the following procedure.
1.
See the section "Preparing for Installation and Removal" described earlier to prepare.
2.
Remove the left side cover.
3.
Remove a setscrew from the duct cover, and remove the duct cover.
4.
Remove the board.
5.
Install the duct cover and left side cover you have removed.
6.
Turn on the power of the server. Make sure that no error message appears in the POST.
If an error message appears, write down the message and contact your service
representative for the maintenance.
