During the transmission you can check and monitor the status of the connection at any
time.
(a) On the LC Display on the front panel
•
To check and monitor the status of a connection, select
STATUS
in the Start mask (see
Figure 4
) and press
. The modulation display then appears:
Figure 62:
Modulation display: The right-hand edges of the bars
indicate the current value.
Specific values: Depite of the normal scala which accent the DB-values in steps of five,
there are two particular values diplayed:
-9 dB
: normally used headroom
-18 dB
: with 18 dBu fullscale (default Merk II
setting), –18 dBf is equal to 0 dBu
Since not all the information relating to a connection can be displayed on the LC
display at the same time, the various pieces of status information are spread across
several masks. You can cause these masks to be displayed one after another using
the left or right arrow keys. The name of the connection is always displayed in the
footnote (phone book entry, number of the ISDN line or network name):

Note:
The values of the encoder/decoder currently in operation are normally shown in
the status display on the front panel. If there is no framing, the values configured in
the setup are displayed.
