B3 Cutting Issues

I

’m using the recommended settings, including the Blade Tension, but my cuts are too deep! I’m even cutting

all the way through vinyl!



Most likely, while setting the

Z Origin

, you are inserting and tightening the blade holder at the wrong

step. Carefully read the screen. You must make sure that you insert the holder while the blade holder
seat is in the down position and not during the step before nor during the steps afterwards.



Also, after the head lowers, you cannot then move the head to a new location because it will raise up.
This will then cause you to insert the blade holder incorrectly.

Verify that you have the correct

Blade Offset

entered. Refer to

Section 2.03.9

.



Sometimes blades can be slightly off spec. Use a small test square or rectangle to tweak the

Blade

Offset

value. Note th

at increasing it will sharpen corners, but if the value is too high you’ll begin to see

tiny projections or bubbles.

The outside paths are cutting before the inside paths. How do I get it to cut the other way around?



Select the shapes and apply

Object>Merge

. This should then cause internal (child) shapes to cut

before external (parent) shapes.

For perfect corners, turn off

Blade Offset

(set to 0) since you do not need an offset for pens.

My cut started out fine bu

t by the end of the cut, it’s not cutting through the material.



Make sure the blade holder housing doesn’t have any bits of material inside of it.



Make

sure the front screws are tight so that the blade holder isn’t slipping upwards during the cut.

My material isn’t being cut at all. I’m barely seeing a scratch.



Try resetting the

Z Origin

. Remember to remove your blade holder first and reload it when the head has

moved to the down position.


