Disconnecting from Shore Power
To
disconnect
your Krogen 58’ from Shore Power, you should do the following
(assuming a Generator is NOT running)
:
1.
Always
wear shoes
when disconnecting from Shore Power.
2.
Take all electrical loads
OFF
the 120/240V AC system by turning
OFF
ALL
120/240V AC equipment and appliances.
3.
Turn to
OFF
the Power Selection switches on 120/240V AC Distribution Panel
No. 1
and
120/240V AC Distribution Panel No. 2.
4.
Turn
OFF
the circuit breakers at the Shore Power connections on the
dock
.
5.
Disconnect the ship’s Shore Power cord at the Shore Power connections on the
dock
FIRST.
6.
If the Aft Shore Power connections were used (Cablemaster System), retrieve the
power cords using the Cablemaster System. Refer to Cablemaster System,
Operation. If the Forward Shore Power connections were used, disconnect the
Shore Power cords on the vessel and store the power cords in a secure, dry
indoor
location.
7.
Close inlet covers tightly.
In case of power cord
salt water immersion,
rinse the plug end or connector end
thoroughly in fresh water, shake or blow out excess water and allow to dry. Spray with a
moisture displacement or corrosion block before re-use.
Switching from Shore Power to Generator
To switch from
Shore Power to Generator power
, you should do the following:
1.
Always
wear shoes
when disconnecting from Shore Power.
2.
Start one or both Generators and let them warm up for
5
minutes.
3.
Take all electrical loads off the 120/240V AC system by turning
OFF
ALL
120/240V AC equipment and appliances.
4.
On 120/240V AC Distribution Panel No. 1 and 120/240V AC Distribution Panel
No. 2, position each selector switch to the appropriate power source:
GEN 1
for
the 20Kw Generator or
GEN 2
for the 12Kw Generator.
5.
Turn back
ON
the 120/240V AC equipment and appliances you need.
6.
Turn
OFF
the circuit breakers at the Shore Power connections on the dock.
7.
Disconnect the Shore Power cords at the
shore outlet FIRST.
8.
If the Aft Shore Power connections were used (Cablemaster System), retrieve the
power cords using the Cablemaster System. Refer to Cablemaster System,
Operation. If the Forward Shore Power connections were used, disconnect the
Shore Power cords on the vessel and store the power cords in a secure, dry
indoor
location.
9.
Close inlet covers tightly.
