Shower Drain/Sump System Basic Service and Maintenance
One shower drain pump and pump guard strainer is located in the Amidships Machinery
Space and one in the Forward Machinery Space. Dirt and debris will collect in the pump
guard strainer which should be periodically cleaned with liquid soap and warm water.
To clean the pump guard strainers, you should do the following:
1. Place the rocker switch for the shower drain system in the ‘OFF’ position.
2. Remove the plastic cover on the pump guard strainer by turning the cover
counterclockwise and remove the collection screen.
3. Clean the collection screen with warm soap and water.
4. Wipe clean the inside of the collection basin and plastic cover.
5. Test the shower drain pump by turning ON the ‘ MASTER HEAD SHOWER
PUMP ’ circuit breaker on 24V DC Main Panel Disconnect.
6. Replace the collection screen.
7. Replace the plastic cover.
8. Repeat for the ‘ GUEST HEAD SHOWER PUMP ’ shower drain system.
9. Leave OFF the ‘ MASTER HEAD SHOWER PUMP ’ and ‘ GUEST HEAD
SHOWER PUMP ’ circuit breakers.
10. Leave the rocker switches in the OFF position.

Liquid dishwashing soap
•
Phillips screw driver
•
Small bucket
•
Warm water
