11. Run the engine until all water is discharged from the raw water system (until
discharge out of the exhaust system STOPS) and then STOP the engine.
12. Using the hose from the water pump or a replacement pickup hose, put the hose
end into the
five gallon bucket of antifreeze and distilled water.
13. Start the engine and let it run until the antifreeze mixture starts to exit the exhaust
system.
14. Stop the engine.
15. Loosen the cover on the water pump and let all water drain.
16. You may want to consider removing impeller (replace with new one during de-
winterizing).
17. Seal the air filter intake with plastic and DUCT tape.
18. Loosen tension on the alternator belt.
19. Open the valve at the bottom of the muffler in the Lazarette and drain all water.
20. Mop up all water.
21. Store leftover 50/50 mix of anti-freeze and distilled water in suitable container.
22. Close the fuel supply and return supply valves.
23. Wipe down the engine and spray it with WD-40.
24. Change the oil in the transmission.
Raw Water Washdown
The following winterizing procedure should be performed:
1. Turn OFF the circuit breaker label ‘ SALT WATER PUMP ’ on the 24V DC
Main Panel Disconnect.
2. Close the raw water intake seacock for the raw water washdown pump.
3. Disconnect the hose connecting the raw water intake seacock and the sea strainer
at the seacock and drain the water into the bilge.
4. Pour a small amount of antifreeze into the seacock (down the opening where the
hose connected).
5. Open the valve at the bottom of the sea strainer and drain all the water into the
bilge.
6. Disconnect the hose connecting the raw water pump to the output hose and pour a
small amount of antifreeze into the pump.
Refrigerator
The following winterizing procedure should be performed:
1. Remove all food from refrigerator and freezer compartments.
2. Slide the refrigerator and freezer controls all the way left to the ‘OFF’ position.
3. Turn OFF the circuit breaker labeled ‘ REFRIGERATOR’ on the 120V AC
Inverter Bypass Panel.
4. Disconnect the refrigerator power cord from the electrical outlet.
5. Clean and dry the refrigerator and freezer thoroughly.
6. Leave the doors open to prevent odors.
