D Expanding an existing HP StoreAll Storage system using

the Setup Wizard

This appendix provides instructions on expanding specific HP StoreAll Storage systems.

Expanding an HP StoreAll Storage 8800/9320 10 GbE cluster with an
HP StoreAll 9730 module

Prerequisites

The following prerequisites must be completed before adding the expansion module to the existing
cluster:

•

The 9730 expansion module must be cabled to an existing cluster as described in the HP
StoreAll OS Networking Best Practices Guide.

•

The nodes in the existing cluster must be upgraded to the current HP StoreAll OS Software
version (see

“Factory default and current HP StoreAll OS Software version information”

(page 7)

).

Installing the initial expansion blade

To install the initial blade in the expansion module:

NOTE:

At any time during this installation process, you may, on most screens, select

Cancel

to

the cancel the procedure or

Back

to return to the previous screen. If available, you can also press

F1

to display on-screen help information.

Use the

Space

bar and

Tab

key to move between screen options or move to available screen

buttons, such as

Cancel

,

Ok

,

Back

, and so forth.

Log in to the blade in the initial expansion slot. The

X9730 Setup

screen appears.

2.

On the

X9730 Setup

screen, select

Ok

. The setup wizard verifies the firmware on the system

and notifies you if a firmware update is needed.
