Using the Spoolcom JOB Command to Manage Jobs
Using the Spoolcom JOB Command to Manage Jobs
You can alter attributes and change the STATUS of any print job by using the
Spoolcom JOB command and subcommands.
Table 2-11
lists the JOB subcommands and describes their effect on FASTP network
printers. Note that some JOB subcommands have special considerations when used
with a specific FASTP network print process. These considerations are described in
the product-specific sections of this manual.
260
param1 = 1 The FASTP network print process emits the PJL
Language command to switch the printer into PostScript
mode. At the end of the job, the printer returns to PCL
mode. The job is transferred in BINARY mode to the
printer and the FASTP network print process does not add
line breaks. PCL sequences such as Page Eject are not
sent.
= 0 The FASTP network print process emits the PJL Language
command to switch the printer to PCL mode.
Note: SETMODE 260 only applies to PostScript-compatible printers.
FASTP network print process cannot tell if a printer is equipped
with PostScript capability.

Print Processes
Subcommand
Effect on FASTP Network Print Processes
COPIES
Specifies the number of copies of this job to be printed. In most instances,
the effect of COPIES is the same as that of any other Spooler printer, but
support can vary based on the specific FASTP network print process being
implemented. See the product-specific sections of this manual for any
special considerations that might apply.
DELETE
Deletes a job from the Spooler. The effect of DELETE is the same as that
of any other Spooler printer. This parameter is not transmitted to the print
process.
FORM
Specifies the form to be used. In most instances, the effect of FORM is the
same as that of any other Spooler printer, but the effect can vary based on
the specific FASTP network print process being implemented. See the
product-specific sections of this manual for any special considerations that
might apply.
HOLD
Places the job in the hold state. The effect of HOLD is the same as that of
any other Spooler printer within the Spooler subsystem. This parameter is
not transmitted to the print process.
