Spooler FASTP Network Print Processes Manual — 427528-006

FASTP EMS 512 Text Messages

file-err

is the file-system error returned. See the 

Guardian Procedure Errors and 

Messages Manual

 for explanations of file-system errors. 

supervisor-name

is the name of the Spooler supervisor process.

Cause. 

The FASTP network print process attempted to open the Spooler supervisor 

process to obtain information but was unable to do so for the reason indicated. For 
example, the FASTP network print process opens the Spooler supervisor to obtain 
details about certain NetBatch jobs, or when jobs are routed to a Spooler collector 
process.

Effect. 

The FASTP network print process attempts to complete printing without this 

information.

Recovery. 

Verify that the Spooler is properly configured and is running. If the error 

persists, contact your service provider as described in 

Troubleshooting and Reporting 

Problems

 on page 8-1.

512

proc-num

is the process number (CPU, PIN) of the process.

device-name

is the Spooler device name.

svc

is the SVC that could not be opened.

file-err

is the file-system error returned. See the 

Guardian Procedure Errors and 

Messages Manual

 for explanations of file-system errors. 

Cause. 

This message applies to FASTPX25 only. FASTPX25 could not open the 

specified SVC because of an error other than FEINUSE (12). 

Effect. 

FASTPX25 attempts to find another free SVC to use. If another free SVC is 

found, the job is printed. If a free SVC cannot be found, the device is placed offline.

Recovery. 

If the error persists, contact your service provider as described in 

Troubleshooting and Reporting Problems

 on page 8-1.
