Spooler FASTP Network Print Processes Manual — 427528-006

FASTPTCP Event Messages

43

proc-name

is the process name of the FASTPTCP process.

device-name

is the Spooler device name.

job-num

is the job number.

nnnnnn

is the octal return code from the relevant Spooler system operation.

Cause. 

The FASTPTCP process encountered an unexpected error from the 

MBCS_TANDEM_TO_EXTERNAL_ procedure. MBCS conversion is enabled using the 
Spoolcom DEV CHARMAP configuration parameter.

Effect. 

The FASTPTCP process reports the error to the Spooler supervisor causing 

the Spooler job to be held, but the device can continue to print other jobs.

Recovery. 

Ensure that the DEV CHARMAP parameter is set correctly. If the error 

persists, contact your service provider as described in 

Troubleshooting and Reporting 

Problems

 on page 8-1.
