Spooler FONT Job Considerations for LPD
Connections
Most parameters required to communicate with an LPD can be specified in the
FASTCNFG configuration file. These parameters form the basis for all jobs sent to the
LPD device.
Additional information can be supplied in the form of SETMODE and CONTROLBUF
calls embedded in a suitable Spooler FONT job. This information can augment or
replace information present in the FASTCNFG file. The information supplied by the
FONT job only affects the current job.
The CONTROLBUF and SETMODE considerations for LPD devices are the same as
those described in
Using the CONTROL, CONTROLBUF, and SETMODE Operations
on page 2-27 with the following exceptions:
CONTROLBUF Operations
CONTROLBUF operations perform device-dependent I/O operations and have the
following syntax:
