FASTKCON File Alteration

FASTKCON File Alteration

FASTKCON files are altered by the FASTKCUT utility commands CREATE, UPDATE, 
and DELETE.

Reverting a FASTKCON File Back to a FASTCNFG File

You also can use the FASTKCUT utility to generate a FASTCNFG file containing 
DEVICE records, POLLTYPE records, and a HOSTS entry that is the equivalent of the 
FASTKCON file. You might want to generate a FASTCNFG file to recreate the 
FASTCNFG for further editing, or return to an older version of FASTPTCP which does 
not support FASTKCON. 

To generate a FASTCNFG file from a FASTKCON file, use the SAVE command as 
follows:

FASTKCUT SAVE 

kcon-file

,

cnfg-file

 

where 

kcon-file

 

specifies the name of the FASTKCON file to be converted back to a FASTCNFG 
file.

cnfg-file

 

specifies the name of the FASTCNFG file to be generated.

For example:

FASTKCUT SAVE *,*

Note that the resulting FASTCNFG file will not contain any of the following:

SPOOLER, FASTCNFG, PROCESS, or MACRO commands.

Comments.

DEFAULT commands. The generated DEVICE commands will include all the 
parameters for each DEVICE regardless of whether these parameters were 
originally specified in a DEFAULT or DEVICE command.

FASTKCUT Messages

FASTKCUT generates messages during normal operation and also when errors are 
detected. These messages are self-explanatory and are prefixed by a
