5.7 Patient Leakage Current
Measurement Mode
Patient leakage current
measurement for medical electrical equipment is
performed only for equipment with a type BF or type CF applied part.
Plug the power cord of the equipment to be measured into the auxiliary socket
for the 3155, and make a measurement by touching 9170 TEST LEADS to the
test point (applied part), and applying voltage from the optional 9196 APPLY
UNIT. For internally powered equipment, to achieve 250 V output, use the
9196 APPLY UNIT in combination with a regulated power supply. (Other
voltage application units can also be used to make measurements.)
The following combinations are measured under the patient leakage current
measurement.

For internally powered equipment, use wire for connecting the signal input
and output parts which are not protectively earthed to the ground.
