NOTE!

Hydraulic Fluid Path Simplified for Clarity

The swing circuit rotates the upperstructure clockwise and counterclockwise. XL 4200 and XL 5200 machines are
equipped with an independent swing circuit. The independent swing is achieved by using a closed loop swing circuit.
The pump and motor are connected inlet to outlet to form the drive loop. No directional control valves are used. All
directional and flow control is accomplished by the pump and motor. The swing pump, control, and motor are
completely separate from the machine implement hydraulics. This allows GRADALL to operate all other hydraulic
functions without affecting the swing. It is also more efficient by requiring less power and creating less heat in the
hydraulic system. Only the reservoir is common in the hydraulic system.

To give precise control of the swing operation, the operator has control of the swing torque output rather than
fluid flow.
