Replacing the Short-term Backup Battery

Service Life of the Short-term Backup Battery
For the short-term backup battery, a nickel hydride secondary battery is used. The service life is
approximately 36 months depending on the usage frequency. If the device is used beyond this
service life, the recall data, short trend data, etc. may not be backed up for 5 minutes when the
power is turned OFF. To maintain proper performance, the short-term backup battery must be
periodically replaced.
C A U T I O N
The battery must be replaced within specified period.
The battery must be replaced with a specified type. If not, it may result in
leakage, heat generation, or explosion.
Do not peel off or scratch the exterior tube of the battery. This will cause
short-circuit resulting in leakage, heat generation, or explosion.
Recycle or discard the used battery according to the local regulations.

N O T E
When replacing, prepare “4/V250H Battery Kit (9D6216)”.
If the battery was stored for more than 3 years, its performance and life
cycle are degraded. Do not use it as a replacement battery.
For some product, the battery is not installed at specified location and
needs to be relocated when replacing. For additional components
requirement for this procedure, contact Fukuda Denshi.
