7-3-3 Command pulse frequency control
• With the 16/20-bit-length frequency register (target frequency register, base frequency register or current
frequency register) and the speed multiplication register, it is possible to control the command pulse frequency or
to reference the current frequency value.
• For the bit length of frequency register, either 16 bits or 20 bits can be selected (by the control register).
Frequency resolution changes with the selected bit width.

• Calculation of command frequency for 16-bit length
Command frequency = 25,000kHz x {1 / (Set value of speed multiplication re 1)}
x {(Set value of frequency register) / 65536} x (1/2)
• Calculation of command frequency for 20-bit length
Command frequency = 25,000kHz x {1 / (Set value of speed multiplication re 1)}
x {(Set value of frequency register) / 1048576} x (1/2)
Point of use:
· Because the maximum command frequency sent from the pulse train positioning control combined module
(NP1F-MP1/NP1F-MP2) is 250kHz, in general, a data greater than the value shown below needs to be set in
the speed multiplication register:
Set value of speed multiplication register = (25,000kHz / 250kHz) x (1/2) -1
= 49
Points of use:
· By referencing the current frequency register, the value of the frequency register which corresponds to the
command pulse frequency currently being output can be read into the CPU module.
· When automatic deceleration point calculation is enabled, do not rewrite the base frequency register, speed
multiplication register or acceleration/deceleration register 1 while the command pulses are being output.
If any of these registers are updated, the deceleration point may not normally be detected.
