Section 7 Positioning Function
7-1 Positioning Function of the Pulse Train Positioning Control
Combined Module (NP1F-MP1/NP1F-MP2)
• The pulse train positioning control combined module (NP1F-MP1/NP1F-MP2) has the function to detect the current
work position by the feedback pulse (current feedback value). Enabling/disabling of the feedback pulse detect
function is selected by the control register.
(For details of the control register, refer to the paragraph for control register in Section 6.)
• There are two operation modes for the pulse train positioning control combined module (NP1F-MP1/NP1F-MP2).
How to control these operation modes is described below:
(1) Pulse generation mode
• Positioning is performed based on moving length (the number of output pulses) and the setting of the target
frequency.
Point of use:
· The number of output pulses and the target frequency are set from the CPU module.

(2) Position command mode
• Positioning is performed by continuously updating the target position at unit-time intervals.
· Target position data is set from the CPU module in this module at unit-time intervals.
· On the combined module side, the interval of commands sent from the CPU module is measured, and the
pulses for the increment are output within the measured time interval.
