Terminology
1) Pulse generator
• Outputs command pulse.
2) Deviation counter
• Calculates feedback pulse input.
3) Signal select
• Selects the command pulse signal or feedback pulse signal and outputs the selected signal to the deviation
counter.
• When Feedback Pulse Select is enabled, the feedback pulse signal is selected.
• When Feedback Pulse Select is disabled, the command pulse signal is selected.
Points of use:
· When Feedback Pulse Select is disabled, the command pulse signal is input to the deviation counter as a
command pulse as well as feedback pulse. Therefore, in this case, the deviation amount is always “0.”
· Selection of the pulse generation mode or position command mode is made by the control register.
Bit 15 = “0”: Pulse generation mode
Bit 15 = “1”: Position command mode
· In the pulse generation mode, moving length (the number of output pulses) and target frequency are set from
the CPU module in the pulse train positioning control combined module.
· In the position command mode, position data is set from the CPU module in the pulse train positioning control
combined module.
The pulse train positioning control combined module calculates the number of pulses for the increment as well
as interval whenever setting is made from the CPU module and then outputs the pulses for the increment at the
set intervals.
