External DUT Calibration
The DUT calibration screen (Fig. 52) is accessed from the Temperature Calibration screen (Fig.
49). The detailed directions are similar to those presented for the nozzle air calibration.
1. Press the DUT Calibration screen button (lower right corner of Air Calibration).
2. Connect a precision temperature calibration device into the external thermocouple connection
located on the back panel of the ThermoJet.
3. Connect a precision temperature calibration device to the #1 female thermocouple jack on the
electrical box.
4. Set the precision temperature calibrated device to 0.0°C.
5. Adjust the offset so the Calibrated Temperature value is equal to 0.0°C. Press the “Offset” button
and entering the offset value into the displayed keypad (e.g., Temperature calibrator reads 0.0°C
and the Uncalibrated temperature reads -3.0°C, enter 3.0°C as the offset).
6. Adjust calibrator setpoint to -55°C (or any other low temperature value).
7. Reconnect the DUT thermocouple before returning to the Utilities screen.
The DUT temperature calibration is now complete.
Pressing the “Exit” button from either of these screens will return the user to the Utilities screen.
Air Temperature Calibration 2
The objective of this procedure is to make the calibrated nozzle temperature equal to the DUT
temperature. The 2
nd
calibration procedure is intended for nozzle calibration only. When
calibrating using this procedure, place the DUT in the air stream and/or in the shroud. Use an
external temperature sensor to monitor the DUT temperature.
1. System must be in Idle mode to start the procedure.
2. Enter the procedure via the Utilities screen (Fig. 16) to Temperature Calibration 2 (Fig. 53).
3. Enter calibration temperature setpoints (extreme high/low) by pressing Low Temp and High Temp
buttons.
4. Push Start and program goes to Running Screen (Fig. 54).
5. The temperature setpoint (Air display) will automatically transition to 0.
6. Let DUT stabilize.
7. Press Zero Offset button and set the external meter reading.
8. Press
Next.
9. Zero offset becomes inactive.
10. Low temperature is active.
11. DUT will stabilize and soak.
12. Press Low Temp Actual button and enter external meter.
13. Low Temp Actual goes inactive.
14. Press Next.
15. Hi Temp Actual becomes active.
16. Let soak until At Temperature stabilizes.
17. Press Hi Temp Actual and enter external meter reading.
18. Press Next.
19. The Calibration 2 Completed screen (Fig. 55) opens.
The system nozzle air temperature calibration is now complete.
