Input Gas
In order to provide the maximum 20 SCFM flow, the THJ80 ThermoJet requires 25 SCFM of
air supplied with a 10°C dew point and a line pressure between 85 and 125 psig. The
ThermoJet can be operated at input volumes as low as 7scfm so long as the input pressure
remains above 85 psig, but the nozzle flow will be limited to ~5 SCFM.
Although the ThermoJet is designed to operate with compressed air, dry nitrogen is
acceptable so long as the work area ventilation is sufficient to guarantee a safe breathing
environment for the operator. No other gases are recommended; flammable or explosive
gases should never be used.
A 1/2" FPT male coupler plug quick-connect fitting and a 1/2" NPT female coupler are
provided to connect the air supply to the base unit’s rear panel. Additional quick-connect
fittings or lines may be purchased through the FTS Service Department.
The ThermoJet air supply line should be at least 1/2" ID. Using a smaller line will limit
performance.
Repackaging
If, for any reason, it becomes necessary to return the THJ80 or any of its options or
accessories to FTS, obtain a Return Authorization Number (RAN) from the FTS Service
Department before shipping the unit. This RAN must be clearly indicated on the outside of the
shipping material. Items returned to FTS without a RAN will experience processing delays
and/or may be refused at the receiving dock.
It is strongly recommended that items be repackaged in their original cartons with the original
packing materials. If desired, appropriate carton and packing materials may be purchased
from FTS to facilitate returns.
