Unpacking Information
The THJ80 ThermoJet is usually shipped by a padded van to provide it a smoother ride to its
destination and to facilitate moving it directly to the test floor.
The THJ80 ThermoJet can be shipped by a motor freight common carrier. In this case, the THJ80
will be bolted to a purpose-built wooden pallet through each of the four corners of its frame. This
pallet is equipped with a ramp to facilitate safe unpacking. A heavy-duty, tri-wall cardboard sleeve
will be placed over the ThermoJet and secured to the pallet by metal strapping. Upon receipt,
please inspect the carton exterior for any signs of mishandling or damage. Take detailed notes or
photographs of any damage.
Carefully open the carton and remove the items inside. Then follow the “de-crating” procedure
enclosed with the ThermoJet to unbolt the unit from the pallet, deploy the ramp, and roll the unit
off. Do not pull or put any stress on the flexible air delivery assembly. It is recommended that all
packaging material be retained in case it is necessary to return the item to FTS for any reason.
NOTE:
Notify the motor freight carrier immediately of any damage.
If the shipment was made FOB factory, FTS cannot collect any damages from the carrier. The
customer must initiate any shipping damage claims. FTS will be available to work with the
customer to solve any problems as efficiently as possible.
If the TJ-ASM anti-static mat option was ordered, remove the plastic liner from the mat to make it
effective. Lift up the black, semi-conductive silicon rubber mat from the ThermoJet’s molded
plastic top. Peel off the protective white plastic sheet covering the top surface of the stainless
steel plate. This plastic is in place only to protect the stainless steel during shipping.
Four optional leveling pads are available by ordering part number TJ-LLK. After the ThermoJet
has been removed from the pallet, these pads can be screwed into each of the four corners of the
frame. Lowering the pads will lift the ThermoJet off its casters and provide a more stable platform.
