Introduction
Manual Introduction
Congratulations on your decision to purchase the THJ80 ThermoJet for your thermal
conditioning application. Used and maintained properly, your THJ80 will give you many years
of outstanding temperature testing performance.
This instruction manual contains all the information needed to install, use and maintain your
THJ80. Please read this manual completely and become familiar with the THJ80 before
attempting to operate it. Take special note of the preventative maintenance section. Timely
maintenance will prolong the life of the ThermoJet. The average operator is not expected to
perform repairs without qualified assistance. In the event the ThermoJet needs repair, please
contact your local FTS representative, or call the SP Service Department.

System Description
The THJ80 is a mechanically refrigerated system designed to provide high volume, high
velocity, temperature controlled airflow to an enclosed, thermally-isolated environment. A
complete system consists of a base unit cabinet, a flexible air delivery assembly, a holding
arm (optional), a shroud (optional), a system controller, and a touch screen.
The base unit cabinet contains the refrigeration system, air filters, air dryer, flow control, and
electrical components. Removable, soundproofed panels provide easy access to the base
unit’s internal component for maintenance or service. The base unit cabinet is supported by
four, heavy duty, full-swivel, lockable casters. Each frame corner will accept a leveler, which
may be purchased separately.
The flexible air delivery assembly is a well-insulated hose connecting the base unit cabinet to
the shroud (or customer specific test chamber). It holds the main airline, purge airline, air
heater, electrical power wires, and thermocouple leads. For improved reliability, no liquid or
gas refrigerant lines are located inside this assembly.
