Assembly - 10" Backsaver Auger

Place a mark (Item 1)

[Figure 64]

on the cable

tightening tool. This will help to tighten the cables

evenly.

Count the revolutions as the tool is turning while

tightening.

Figure 65

NOTE: Cable lengths may vary. The following is a

starting point and cables may need to be

tightened more or loosened depending on the

cable length.

Verify that the input box end of tube is approximately

three feet off the ground. Look down the tube to see

how straight the tubes are.

NOTE: Use the cables to bow up the discharge end

and straighten tubes.

Tightening The Long Cables

1050 Model

- The discharge end should bow up about

3 to 4” from bottom of tube to the ground.

1060 Model -

The discharge end should bow up about

6 to 8” from bottom tube to ground.

1070 & 1080 Models -

The discharge end should bow

up about 12” to allow adequate space to install the

discharge spout.

Tighten long cable eyebolts (Item 1)

[Figure 65]

first.

Once cables are tight, tighten both sides three

addional revolutions with the impact wrench and

socket.

Tightening The Short Cables

Tighten short cables just enough to take the slack out.

Lower the input box end of the tube to the ground.
Stand behind the input box and look down the full

length of the tubes and check to see how straight the

tubes are and how much the discharge end bows up.

Repeat cable tightening procedure (if needed).

before tightening cables.
