Mass analyzer Assembly

Figure 8-39 - Mass analyzer assembly exploded diagram

Vent the vacuum.

Turn off the instrument power.

Remove the front and top covers as well as the top plate covering the analyzer
assembly.

Using steps from section 8.7.2, page 147 remove the Detector Assembly from

the instrument.

With the detector assembly removed, loosen the two screws holding the

quadrupole supply tabs onto the quadrupole assembly using a clean flat blade

screwdriver.

Remove the 4 bolts located on top of the mass analyzer assembly holding it to

VC3.

Carefully extract the mass analyzer assembly from the top of the instrument.

To replace assembly, follow steps in reverse.
