1.
Unscrew the two M6 screws (upper left and lower right) on turbo1, and remove
the two screws securing the water cooling block to the turbo pump, and set the
block aside (see Figure 7-12)
2.
Disconnect the control cable from the turbo controller
3.
Remove the 4 M6 screws securing the turbo1 to the mounting plate
4.
If replacing turbo1, seat and secure the mounting plate on the new turbo, along
with the O-ring (Figure 7-13).

Unscrew the 4 M6 screws on turbo2, and set the metal brackets aside (use one
hand to hold the pump in place)
2.
Remove the two screws securing the water cooling block to the turbo pump, and
set the block aside.
3.
Disconnect the control cable from the turbo controller
NOTICE
When refitting the turbo pumps, ensure that the O-ring are seated correctly.

Removing Gate Valve Assembly and Gate Valve Piston Assembly
NOTICE
Always use powder free gloves when working on the gate valve assembly. Failure to
do so can degrade the performance of the instrument.
Also, you should dispose of any gloves used for working on the gate valve assembly.
Fomblin grease is used as the lubricant for this mechanism. It is a white/clear color
and difficult to see. Disposing of your gloves will prevent accidental contamination
of the ion lenses and mass analyzer components.
