part of the top of the vacuum housing. This entire assembly must be removed before removing the mass 

analyzer assembly

 

 
With the detector assembly removed you can access and replace the detector. 

1.

 

Set the Detector assembly on a clean surface such that it is resting on the top of 

the discriminator. 

2.

 

Remove the grounding ribbon cable by removing the screw on the bottom of the 

plate under the detector. 

3.

 

Remove the SMA cable connector from the detector using an appropriate 
wrench. 

4.

 

Removing the wires connecting to the detector from the 6way and feed 

throughs. Make sure to remember where each wire connects, take a picture if 
needed. 

5.

 

Using a Torx screwdriver, release both screws securing the detector to the 

mounting bracket. 

6.

 

Replace the detector in reverse order making sure that all wires are connecting 

to the correct connection.
