Select appropriate sensor.
On the back of the Julian Workstation:
1 Swing protective socket cover to the left and insert
sensor plug.
Swing protected socket cover back to fix sensor plug.
C-lock-ECG Synchronization (Optional)
If a patient is highly agitated or arterial flow is very
low, signals obtained from SpO
2
measurements can
be improved using C-Lock-ECG synchronization. In
this case, Julian receives two separate signals that
render information on heart activity:
– An optical signal from the SpO
2
sensor
and
– an electrical signal from the separate ECG monitor.
Julian uses the R-wave of the ECG signal to identify
the pulse and to synchronize SpO
2
measurement with
this signal.
2 Route ECG signal from an ECG monitor with cable
and plug to the back of the Julian. See "Technical
data" on page 143 for compatibility of electrical signal
and pin assignment.
In the event of a delayed ECG signal
Synchronization may be impaired if the ECG signal is
delayed by more than 40 milliseconds with respect to
the real time QRS complex.
If you suspect a problem of this kind:

Use Julian without C-Lock-ECG synchronization.
