Removing the flow sensor
1 Unscrew expiratory port.
2 Remove flow sensor.
●
The flow sensor must be disinfected in 70 % ethanol
solution for approximately 1 hour.
Leave sensor to dry in air for at least 30 minutes,
otherwise the remaining alcohol can damage the
sensor when calibrating.
●
The flow sensor can be reused as long as it can be
calibrated successfully.
Removing the absorber and bellows
3 Turn absorber counterclockwise and pull downwards.
●
Empty the soda lime.
For disposal, refer to manufacturer's instructions.
4 Remove insert from the absorber.
5 Turn container of the bellows counterclockwise and
pull downwards.
6 Remove bellows.
●
Prepare absorber, bellows container and the bellows
for cleaning and disinfection in a parts washing/disin-
fection unit.
Removing the breathing system
●
Hold breathing system by its handle and pull it out.
WARNING !
Absorbent is caustic and is a strong irritant to
the eyes, skin, and respiratory tract. When
emptying absorber, take care not to spill its
contents.
CAUTION !
Do not process flow sensor in cleaning and
disinfection equipment or steam-autoclave flow
sensor.
Do not use compressed air, a brush or similar
tools to clean flow sensor as this could possibly
damage the thin wires inside.
