User Diagnostics for VMware NIC Driver Management

Applications

This section covers the following information for user diagnostics for VMware.

Ethtool

Use the ethtool utility to view adapter statistics and configure interface options.

Supported options include the display of device information, protocol offload options,
driver information, adapter statistics, and more. For details, refer to the ethtool man page.

To view driver and firmware versions, issue the following command:

ethtool -i vmnic[n]

Example:

# ethtool -i vmnic7

To view interface statistics, issue the following command:
