Interface board KPK-2
General
The KPK-2 is an addressable interface board used for connecting the CS3000
system to external computers, modems, terminals, mimics, serial printers, etc.
The board is equipped with two RS232 channels and two RS485 channels.
One of the RS232 channels is accessible through a D-sub header on the front
panel and the other channels are connected via the back-plane.
The KPK-2 is controlled by LPK-2 via the address and data buffers in the back
plane. All channels are programmable for baud-rate and other communication
parameters. The functions of the board are set by the definition programme.
Handling
Indications
There are ten green LEDs on the front panel of the board.
No 1 when lit: proper voltage supply.
No 2 when lit: the board is properly polled.
No 3 when lit: RS232 channel #1 sending.
No 4 when lit: RS232 channel #1 receiving.
No 5 when lit: RS232 channel #2, sending.
No 6 when lit: RS232 channel #2, receiving.
No 7 when lit: RS485 channel #1 sending.
No 8 when lit: RS485 channel #1 receiving.
No 9 when lit: RS485 channel #2 sending.
No 10 when lit: RS485 channel #2 receiving.
Fuse
The battery voltage is fused. If the fuse is blown a signal is activated in the
back plane. The fuse is accessible on the front panel of the board, and can be
used for disconnecting the power.
Fuse rating: 250 mAT 5x20 mm
Setting the address
The address of the board is set with a DIP-switch (SW1), two switches. The
recommended address and DIP-switch setting are provided in Appendix A.
