RM2020 units monitor the voltage level when the unit is on or
transmitting. If the unit detects a low battery, the battery and charging
system should be checked as soon as possible and the battery replaced
when required.

The battery requires a charger to keep it charged, such as the solar panel
battery charger or AC/DC charger provided by AI.
Battery Information
RM2020 units check the battery voltage level when the radio turns on and begins
transmitting. If the battery’s voltage level is too low, the unit includes a low
voltage alarm (LVA) in the data transmission to your website account. The low
voltage alarm displays on the Unit Detail Status window. When the unit detects a
low battery voltage, you should either recharge or replace the battery as soon as
possible to ensure uninterrupted service.

Battery Types
RM2020 units are designed to monitor the battery voltage when the unit is on or
transmitting. When a unit detects a low battery voltage, the unit includes a “low
battery” status in the data packet it transmits to your website account. Your
website account indicates a low battery voltage with the red, flashing message
“Low Voltage Warning”. A weak battery should be replaced as soon as possible
to ensure uninterrupted service.
Sealed Lead Acid Battery (rechargeable)
The sealed lead acid battery requires a charger to keep it charged, such as the
solar panel battery charger. If a weak battery is detected, both the battery and
charging system should be checked as soon as possible and the battery replaced
when required.
