Testing your Configuration

Once you have removed the serial cable of 

X4000

, your configuration is

complete. Now let’s make sure everything works.

LAN connection

testing

Test the connection to your 

X4000

. In the start menu of your PC, click Run

and enter 

ping

, followed by a space and the IP address of 

X4000

, e.g.

ping 192.168.1.254

. A window appears with the response "Reply

from...".

Testing Internet access

Now test your Internet access by entering 

www.bintec.de

 in the browser.

Caution!

Incorrect configuration of the devices in your LAN may result in unintended

connections and increased charges! Monitor your 

X4000

 and make sure that the

system does not establish unwanted ISDN connections (and charges).

Configuration Wizard are sufficient for your needs. If not, you can configure
filters with the Setup Tool (

).
