The
Active
LED (Fig. 4-1/

) lights up when laser operation mode is activated.
Laser operation mode can be activated/deactivated either via the button ring of the microscope,
using the software, or the remote switch for laser mode.
When laser operation mode is activated, the eyepiece shutter is closed.
The
Safe
LED (Fig. 4-1/

) indicates the status of the interlock connections. The
Safe
LED lights up only if
all interlock connections of the Laser TIRF imaging system are closed. In this case the laser shutter opens
automatically.
