•
Bring the suspension arm in a position convenient for you, and tighten the
friction adjustment knob (1).
•
Unscrew the securing screw (4) by a few turns.
CAUTION
Risk of injury caused by lowering of the surgical microscope!
•
Never prepare the system for use above the patient.
•
Never mount or remove accessory equipment on the surgical microscope
during surgery.
•
Only use accessories expressly certified by ZEISS for combination with the
surgical microscope described in these instructions for use.
•
Never exceed the maximum permissible weight capacity of the suspen-
sion arm (see page 142).
•
Rebalance the suspension arm after every change of equipment
(see page 77).
•
Tighten all friction knobs firmly.
WARNING
Risk of injury caused by parts falling down!
•
Before each use and after re-equipping the system, make sure that the
binocular tube (5) is securely locked into position. Make sure that the
securing screw (4), the objective lens (3), and/or the objective lens carrier
ring with accessories have been firmly tightened!
CAUTION
Confusing the assistant tube with the main observer tube
If the assistant tube is incorrectly connected to the main observer interface,
the stereo image of the surgical field will not appear correctly, and the
surgical field will produce an incorrect stereoscopic impression.
If the surgery is performed with this configuration, this may cause damage
to the anterior segment of the eye.
•
Label the Invertertube as the assistant tube.
