Functional test before use
Checklist
Use the following list to check the function of the device before every opera-
tion (with no patient!).
•
Check zoom

The buttons on the foot control panel have been configured
(see page 112).

The zoom speed has been set on the touchscreen (see page 116).
•
Check focus

The buttons on the foot control panel have been configured
(see page 112).

The focusing speed has been set on the touchscreen (see page 116).
•
Check XY coupling

The speed has been set on the touchscreen (see page 116).
•
Check unobstructed movement of the surgical microscope

The ease of movement has been adjusted using the friction adjust-
ment knob on the stand (see page 51).

All cables and accessories have been installed in such a way that the
surgical microscope can be positioned safely without causing any
damage.
CAUTION Failure of functions possible!
If defects in the device are identified during surgery, there is a risk of injuries
to the patient.
•
Perform a functional test prior to each use of the device.
•
Do not use the device if it is defective or malfunctioning.

If the failure of a function impairs your work, do not use this device for safety
reasons!

Repair the cause (see section “What to do in the event of malfunctions”)
or contact ZEISS Service.
